This app was excellent until I found The Collins Spanish Dictionary!

I used to use the free and compact version, but upgrading to this one has been a wise choice. I teach English and Spanish as second languages, and the definitions, synonyms and examples are quite handy. I recommend this purchase.

I tried a number of Spanish/English apps for ipad and this one is my favorite.

This is a very useful reference source as well as a good translation dictionary.

Me ayuda mucho :) Great dictionary, but what I love is the feature that allows you to search not only for a word but different phrases and idiomatic uses. The pronunciation / text2speech is also very good. Highly recommended.

Perfect for all levels, easy to use.

I bought another dictionary first. This one cost double but its dirt cheap. I just started using it and I have to write this review now. I love this. I type anything in, spelled wrong, no accents, english or spanish ....and it is already guessing correctly what I am looking for. The descriptions are thorough and complex enough to be accurate. It is simple to use and fast. And when I thought it couldnt get any better, ....yes it talks too! The definitions will speak if you like. If you have a good start on Spanish or it is day one for you, this is what you need. There are so many forms of the verbs. In other dictionaries you need to know the correct spelling of the infinitive form of the verb. In this one, you can get almost everything wrong and still spot the word you need in a list. Well done! EASILY worth the money. Compare the features and think about it. Even though I paid for my other dictionary, I can see no reason to let it take space on my iPad. This one is that good.

Overall, this app is really comprehensive and the verbs quite well laid out. As a learner of both English and Spanish, I would definitely recommend this program for both students. Just wish the program were complete and did not ask if we would like to purchase additional stuff.

Finding this app easy to use and fairly complete. It is faster and more complete than my hard copy dictionary.

Loved this app until I installed the last update and now it wont work. Ever! It has the loading circle but never loads. None of the screens work and I cant search for words which just made it a GIANT waste of money!

This dictionary is rarely stumped! Pronunciation in the audio samples is excellent.

Beats lugging around my hefty dictionary! Easy to quickly look up words and find the right context. Even my Spanish teacher was impressed.

Very impressive app.... It is similar to the website "Spanish dictionary", which makes me very happy ... Because idiomatic phrases and uses of the words are some of the more difficult things to learn. I appreciate the offline capabilities.

Really well done but it would be much better if the nouns had the gender!

This was a last 2nd purchase as I was having some difficulty understanding some people I met while on vacation in the Dominican Republic, while off our resort. This was helpful in getting ideas across or clarify what signs said. Love the phrase examples, very useful too! Well worth the price I paid.

I am brushing up on Spanish and bought this app as a handy dictionary which I can carry along with me on my iPod during my travels. For the price ($7.99), this dictionary is extremely complete. The user interface is very simple and intuitive. From the same lookup window you can enter words in either English or Spanish and look up the translation in the opposite language. For each word entered, the translation dictionary provides a very complete definition as well as sample phrases, synonyms and antonyms.
